Parshat Tzav and Megillat Esther - Purim, Bacon, Matzah Balls and Jewish Survival

Audio Shiur:
Parshat Tzav and Megillat Esther - Purim, Bacon, Matzah Balls and Jewish Survival

We begin the shiur by noting the allusion in the parshah to the terrible killings in Itamar that took place over last Shabbat. We then turn our attention to Megillat Esther and wonder what the Jews did to 'almost' merit annihilation. Note to listeners: I'm pretty hardcore RZ. I know it. Don't say you weren't warned.

Personal Parshah for Emor - Ramban and Eretz Yisrael

Because we didn't have shiur last week, and Ramban's commentary on Achrei Mot is so important - it's one of the fundamental texts relating to the Land of Israel - we decided this week to study last week's Parshah and Ramban's commentary.

Ramban and Eretz Yisrael
Ramban's commentary at the end of Parshat Kedoshim is one of the more important sources in the Torah relating to the holiness of Eretz Yisrael. In this shiur we discuss the Ramban and his worldview of the Land and how Mitzvot relate to it..

Personal Parshah Terumah 5769 - Life Lessons from the Aron

Parshat Terumah: Life Lessons from the Aron
The Aron - the ark that held the luchot, conveys critical messages to us about the way we can lead more meaningful and spiritual lives. In this shuir we focus on the subtle but critical messages hidden in the text describing the blueprints for the aron - and how this relates to Jewish day schools, raising children, and learning in kollel.
